Apple a Day Preschool and Infant Center
was created by a Nurse Practitioner so your kids stay healthy.

Alice Haines, RN, FNP
Founder (Previous Owner)

imgA love of children and a desire to offer parents another option to standard child care scheduling sparked Alice to begin Apple a Day. The center has now kept young families healthy and happy for almost a decade.

In addition to being a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Alice worked as a children's hospital nurse and FNP in the UC Davis Health System for fifteen years before opening Apple a Day. She's been a working mother of three and has navigated the child care scene herself. While in college she worked at the CSUS Children's Center for four years as a toddler teacher. Additionally, she has owned a medical legal consulting firm that gave her experience in business ownership.

In 2000 Alice renovated a duplex in Carmichael that is now Apple a Day Preschool and Infant Center. The school opened on January 2, 2001. Her experience as a nurse practitioner, mother, preschool teacher and business owner give her the perfect background to oversee Apple a Day's program and quality assurance.

imgOur teachers and aides have a long history of remaining at Apple a Day year after year. Their dedication to quality, not only for themselves as teachers, but for your child's experience while attending, is truly remarkable.

Apple a Day staff includes skilled early childhood education teachers, teacher's aides and a cook who are devoted to caring for young children and helping make a difference for generations to come. When you meet them, we know you will agree.
